FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. Fort Lauderdale United FC (2-0-2, 8 PTS) earned its first home victory of the season with a dominant 4-1 win over Dallas Trinity FC (3-1-0, 9 PTS) on Saturday evening at Beyond Bancard Field. Midfielder Kelli Van Treeck scored her first two professional goals, and forward Kiara Locklear added her third of the campaign.
Fort Lauderdale set the tone early with sustained pressure, and Van Treeck opened the scoring in the 16th minute after a build-up from Jasmine Hamid and Locklear. A Dallas own goal doubled the advantage before halftime, and Van Treeck struck again in the 59th minute to make it 3-0. Locklear in the 81 minutes sealed the victory with a three-goal cushion with a composed finish after Dallas briefly pulled one back in the 71-minute.
The win lifts Fort Lauderdale to second place in the league standings and extends its unbeaten start to four matches with back-to-back victories.
Fort Lauderdale will embark on a three-match road stretch, starting with Brooklyn FC on September 28.
