FAU secured first victory of spring 2024 season with a 5-2 win against Stetson
The Owls have improved their record to 1-1 for the 2024 Spring Season.

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic Women's Tennis (1-1) won their first game of the season against Stetson 5-2 after adverse weather conditions briefly halted the start of the match on Saturday morning Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
After conceding a tough loss 3-4 against Northwestern University on January 15, the FAU Owls approached their games against the Stetson Univerisity Hatters with better energy.
In doubles, the Olws quickly jumped on the scoreboard to a 1-0 lead with the pair Victoria Gomez O'Hayon and Millie-Mae Matthews, who defeated Cheri Darley and Alanna DiFrancessco of Stetson with a score of 6-2 on court #2.
Followed by another victory from the duo Panna bartha and Carla Galmiche, who defeated Hedrzak Magdalena and Maslova Nadejda 6-4 on court #1, before Noa Cohen and Zali Morris of Stetson University, defeated FAU's Amber McGinnis and Lexi Silna, with a score of 6-4 to close the doubles in the Order of Finish: 2, 1, 3.
In singles, the 2022 Wimbledon participant, Panna Bartha, helps FAU breeze to another victory on court #1, winning 6-1, 6-0 against Nadejda Maslova.
The Owls continue their success on court #5 with another quick work from the junior Millie-Mae Matthews, crushing Magdalena Hedrzak with scores of 6-0 and 6-0 to put the team up 3-0 on the scoreboard.
On court #2, Stetson got on the scoreboard down 3-1 when Cheri Darley displayed a convincing victory for the Hatters against the Spaniard junior Victoria Gomez O'Hayon, 6-1, 6-2.
However, on court #6, the Owls pulled another winning match with the Pompano Beach-born redshirt junior Amber McGinnis, who defeated Noa Cohen of the Hatters 6-1, 6-3.
FAU carried on the momentum to win their final match on court #4 with the Czech junior Lexi Silna, who defeated Zali Morris in a tough battle with scores of 7-6 (7-5), 6-1.
The Hatters completed the final match on court #3, with Alanna DiFrancessco, who defeated the French sophomore Carla Galmiche, 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8-6).
The Owls won the contest 5-2 and will face FGCU tomorrow, Sunday, at noon at the Kimberly V. Strauss Tennis Center.
