FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Christian Pulisic Scores a double to help the United States win 3-0 against their rivals Mexico in a thrilling game to reach the final.
Author of two goals, he helped the team secure a 3-0 win over Mexico at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The first goal came in the 37th minute when Pulisic capitalized on a loose ball in the Mexico penalty area and finished with his left foot to give the United States a 1-0 lead.
He continued his impressive performance just one minute into the second half, redirecting a low cross from Timothy Weah into the net to make it 2-0 for the U.S.
Despite Mexico's efforts to get back into the game, including some close chances in the 62' from Luis Chavez's free kick that Edson Alvarez almost connected a header, the U.S. held firm on defense.
In the 69th minute, an altercation broke out on the pitch, leaving each team playing with ten men after the referee showed both teams the red card to Cesar Montes of Mexico and Weston McKennie of the U.S.
Taking advantage of Mexico's missed opportunities saved by U.S. GK Matt Turner in the 75' and a hit wide by the Mexican Uriel Antuna, the United States extended their lead to 3-0 in the 79th minute.
Sergino Dest found Ricardo Pepi on a through ball, who dribbled around the Mexico goalkeeper Ochoa and scored the third goal for the U.S.
This win extends the U.S.'s unbeaten streak against Mexico to six games, with four wins and two draws.
The United States advances to the final of the Concacaf Nations League to face Canada, while Mexico will compete against Panama in the Third Place Match.
