The transfer market has been a hot topic full of excitement and speculation for football fans worldwide. Benzema left Real Madrid to join the Saudi Arabia club, Al-Ittihad. This acquisition is part of an ambitious billion-dollar project to bring world football superstars to help elevate the game there.

One particular rumor that is swirling is the possibility of Lionel Messi, one of the greatest footballers of all time, joining Inter Miami CF since announcing he is leaving Paris Saint-Germain.

The 2022 Qatar World Cup winner is rumored to want to go back to his longtime career club, Barcelona, per his dad.

"Leo wants to return to Barça, and I would also like him to return. We trust that Leo can return," Jorge Messi.

Meanwhile, another report from Forbes' contributing writer, Tom Sanderson, wrote that the superstar "agreed to join Inter Miami," per the popular Argentine Journalist Hernan Castillo.

Additionally, more recent reports from BBC News, and cbssportsgolazo, announced, “Messi to Miami might be happening!” Guillem Balague confirmed that Lionel Messi is set to sign for Inter Miami and wrote on his Instagram that, "Messi has decided. His destination: Inter Miami."

Messi left Barcelona for PSG due to the team's financial crisis in 2021, and now still would have to make room to bring the 35-year-old back unless Messi would take the minimum cut toward the end of his career.

Inter Miami CF has shown intent and willingness to invest in top players and talent like Gonzalo Higuain in the past. And David Beckham, the co-owner of Inter Miami CF, had made a formal offer of $50 million per season for four years, reported SPORT last week.

However, if the global superstar is considering adding in his bag, a transfer in the Middle East to Saudi Arabia would be the most lucrative offer as the club Al-Hilal is ready to invest millions, if not billion.

Messi to Inter Miami CF would be a great turnaround of events for Miami in the MLS as we await the official announcement.
