FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale United FC’s red-hot form shows no signs of cooling off. Fueled by second-half goals from Addie McCain and Jasmine Hamid, FTL UTD overpowered Lexington SC 2-0 at Beyond Bancard Field on Saturday night, stretching their unbeaten streak to five matches and vaulting into fourth place in the USL Super League standings.

McCain, the league’s leading scorer, broke through in the 49th minute after a sluggish first half, slotting home a clinical finish off a perfectly weighted assist from midfielder Kiara Locklear. The goal marked McCain’s 12th of the campaign, further cementing her grip on the Golden Boot race.

But the night’s highlight belonged to in-form star Jasmine Hamid. Fresh off claiming Player of the Month honors, the dynamic winger doubled the lead in the 62nd minute, cutting inside past two defenders before unleashing a curling rocket into the top corner—a goal that sent the home crowd of 8,412 into a frenzy.

While the attack dazzled, Fort Lauderdale’s rebuilt backline delivered a masterclass. Center-back duo Laurel Ansbrow and Julia Grosso, both offseason acquisitions, snuffed out Lexington’s threats with composure, while goalkeeper Cosette Morche notched her fourth clean sheet of the year with three key saves.

The victory propels Fort Lauderdale (7-5-3, 24pts) into a tie for the league lead in goals scored (21) ahead of a blockbuster midweek test. On Wednesday, FTL UTD will host NJ/NY Gotham FC—reigning NWSL champions—in a groundbreaking inter-league showdown, the first-ever meeting between USL Super League and NWSL sides.

“This is why we play,” said Hamid. “To test ourselves against the best. Wednesday isn’t just a game—it’s a moment for our league, our fans, and this city.”

Kickoff for the historic clash is set for 7:30 p.m. ET at Beyond Bancard Field, with national coverage on Peacock TV.
