Charleston, S.C. — The Floridian, Danielle Collins, continued her unparallel success story by winning her fourth career WTA with a back-to-back title within two weeks on the road to retirement.

Collins dominated the No.11 seed Daria Kasatkina in two sets 6-2, 6-1 to win the 2024 Credit One Charleston Open Final.

The current No. 22 rank in the world only needed one hour and 17 minutes to overcome Kasatkina.

This win set her a career-best with 13 straight victories, including her recent run at the Miami Open on hard courts, demonstrating her versatility across different surfaces, including green clay.

“I’m just trying to keep this train rolling,” said Collins. “Really, be myself out there and not think too much about what’s next.”

In the past few weeks, Collins turned into the Instagram nickname mode she first signed up for, Danimal. She only dropped one set in six matches at the Charleston Open final and has won 26 of the past 27 sets.

In the initial set against Kasatkina, Collins roared ahead with a 3-0 lead, capitalizing on two breaks serve and took the set at 6-2.

Collins continued to dominate in the second set, establishing a 5-0 lead before Kasatkina could hold a serve.

Serving for the match and up two championship points, Collins sealed the victory at 6-1 on a volley at the net.

“I’m really happy that I can showcase my best tennis in these last couple of events because I think that’s the way I want to go out,” Collins said. “I want to go out with my best results.

After two successful campaign weeks, Collins looks forward to taking a few days off before playing in Madrid later this month.
