Frisco, Texas – Inter Miami CF take their Star players on the road for the first time to continue their journey in the Leagues Cup 2023 round of 16 against FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium.
In the recent weeks since the integration of the legend Argentine Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets in the Miami line-up, the team has progressed with three convincing victories in the Leagues Cup after a long winless drought from the end of May until Messi bent a last-minute free-kick into the back of the net against Cruz Azul for a 2-1 victory last July 21.
With new life breathed into this team, they face a new opponent with the ambition to win this tournament regardless of stardom presence in Miami.
“Our ultimate goal is to become champions of this new tournament, and Inter Miami's going to come here and try and knock us out,” said the FC Dallas forward Jesús Ferreira.
The FC Dallas players are confident in their abilities and determined to defend their home turf.
This fixture with Dallas this Sunday is the second time the two sides will meet this season, with Dallas winning the first game 1-0 at the DRV PNK stadium.
The Herons expect to continue their resurgence and make it four straight victories to move on to the quarterfinals scheduled for Aug. 11-12, where they will face either Charlotte FC or Houston Dynamo FC.
The game will start at 9:30 p.m. ET at the Toyota Stadium.
