Inter Miami is on a seven-game skid in Major League Soccer (MLS), standing lonely at the bottom of the chart. Nonetheless, as a newly appointed coach, it is fair to expect that he will closely observe his new team as they attempt to start sloping upward.

The recent performances by Inter Miami have been disappointing but also plagued by a series of events help contribute to their misfortunes. They have been dealing with injuries from Rodolfo Pizarro, who made it back on the pitch a few games ago. In addition to now, another significant blow was when their starting left back, Franco Negri, sustained an injury, tearing his left ACL during the 4-1 match lost against Philadelphia. Consequently, he will be on the sideline for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery.

Moreover, other key players DeAndre Yedlin, Kamal Miller, and Sergiy Kryvtsov are unavailable due to their National team duty.

In his first press conference on Thursday, Martino acknowledged that to start turning the misfortunes of this team into gold, it will require patience. Even with the acquisitions of Lionel Messi, and Sergio Busquets, the immediate results may not be achievable.

"The people always want immediate results. The circumstances are what they are. We will need some time," said Martino.

Inter Miami is back home after a long month of playing on the road to host Austin FC this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the DRV PNK Stadium.
