Haiti received a golden opportunity in the 29th minute when Mexico made a defensive error and passed the ball to Wilde-Donald Guerrier inside the box with two other open forward around the penalty spot.

However, he poorly decided to take a cheap shot straight at the Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and failed to convert the chance.

Haiti pinned back on defense in the first half and gave Mexico possession of the ball.

Consequently, El Tricolor's dominance almost resulted in a goal when Henry Martin wide opened around the 8 yards and missed the target after a poorly cleared ball by the captain Ricardo Ade.

Right out of the tunnel in the second half, Martin connected a header to the back of the net from Uriel Antuna's cross in just 44 seconds, granting Mexico a 1-0 lead.

Haiti conceded a second goal in the 56th minute off its defender from Jesus Gallardo, who delivered a deep cross that Ade diverted the ball into the net.

Falling behind by two goals seemed ignited Haiti's comeback fighting spirit again. They pulled one back to make it a 2-1 contest in the 78th minute. Danley Jean capitalized on a corner kick and sent the ball crossed the goal line into the side of the net with a header.

But Mexico responded with poise in the 83rd minute when Santiago Gimenez lounged to redirect Antuna's cross into the net with his right foot.

Mexico secured the 3-1 victory and grabbed another 3 points over Haiti, which puts them on top of the Group and a spot in the quarterfinal.

Both teams will play in the last Group games on Sunday the 2nd. Mexico will play against Qatar at the Levi's Stadium, while Haiti will play against Honduras at the Bank of America Stadium to secure their tickets to the quarterfinal.
